as if/as though的條件句

as if／as though
此句型意為“彷彿…；好像…一樣”

用法一：純粹表達某人事實上的感受，或某事物事實上看起來的樣子, as if/as though的條件句時態不需有任何特殊的變化
1. The tree looks as if it is going to fall.
2. He sounded as if he had a bad cold.
用法二：as if/as though的條件句有時會用過去式動詞和were（口語中可以接受was）來取代現在式，形成與現在事實相反的假設語氣
1. The nurse attends on the patient as if he           her father.這護士照顧這位病人彷彿在照顧她爸爸似的。
2. Don’t preach to me as if you          my father.（事實上你根本不是我父親）
3. Lucy always talks as if she           everything. （事實上她所知有限）
用法三：as if/as though的條件句也會用過去完成式(had+p.p.），形成與過去事實相反的假設語氣，這種變化是在強調事發當時的事實根本不是這樣。
1.She looked as if she           a ghost.
（事實上她當時沒有真的看到鬼）
2.He stumbled and fell on the stage, but he quickly got up and acted as if nothing
         （事實上當時已經出糗了）

P.S. 屬於假設法時，無論主要子句裡的動詞是現在式或過去式，只要 as if / as though 子句所指的時間與其同時，都用過去式；若非同時而是較早，或要表示已經持續了若干時間，則用過去完成式。
在現代英語中，有時內容不是事實，也可能用陳述語氣。如：
I feel as if [as though] I’m floating on air. 我感到好像漂浮在空中。
